Are these boards solid or are there some shakes that will need filling?

Is it shakey? Are there splits and cracks that run with the grain. Are some of those dark places areas of loose grain etc. etc. You know, shakey

They are very solid sets. No splits, cracks, shakes, or anything else I can see. The spalt is very stable. I cannot hardly dent it with a fingernail. Shane at High Mountain has a set. You might want to PM him to see if he likes his.

This set measures:

Back pieces = 23 7/8" x 8 1/4" x .20"

Side pieces = 35 1/4" x 8 1/8" x .15"

John,

I have a set of this stuff and looked at bunch of sets when I was at Doug's a couple of weeks ago, including this set I believe. They are very solid, the colour is just colour. I checked out the spalt also because in some birch I have the spalt is noticably softer, not so with this myrtle. It is as you see it. A great local alternative!

Shane

My wife just told me to bid $150.

If I win, I get some awesome wood. If I lose, I still have an awesome wife!

$150 it is.

Thanks Matt. Please don't be mad at me I just had to have that set. I know Doug has more at a comparable price.
